Coalstorm's Kits - Request

I was asleep in my den; it had been a long day. The days had been getting hotter, and most prey had been fleeing towards cooler areas.  
I awoke when someone prodded my head. I opened my eyes. Lonetail was in my den; her eyes had a look of urgency in them. Once she saw I was awake she said, "Coalstorm is kitting! Come quick!"
I got up quickly and ran to the nursery.  The sky was pitch black, the almost-full moon shining in the sky. Coalstorm was lying down, asleep with six little kittens next to her. "Is she ok?" I asked, concerned.
"Yes, she did perfectly fine" Lonetail said.
Foxsky came in to the nursery with different herbs in her mouth. "These will help with her strength."
"Perfect, thank you Foxsky." Lonetail woke up Coalstorm and got her to eat the herbs.
My mind was spinning… I didn't remember Coalstorm telling me she was going to have kits. Sure, her belly had gotten larger, and she hadn't been hunting as much…. But I just hadn't thought it through.
Then I thought about the kits' father… There weren't any toms in Lightclan that Coalstorm was close too. I looked over at Lonetail. "Do you know who the father is?" I asked.
Lonetail sighed. "I thought you would have guessed. Coalstorm has been going over Lightclan border to see someone… I don't know who it is for sure… but I am guessing it is Cloudfrost."
"Cloudfrost?" I said, bewildered. Huntheart also had a relationship with him, and it didn't go well. She was heartbroken, and stuck with six kits to look after by herself. I didn't want that to happen again.
I looked at the kits again… Some of them did resemble Cloudfrost, and some even had his markings.
I felt mad… not only at Cloudfrost and Coalstorm, but at myself as well. "How could I not have known?" I thought. I should have been paying more attention to my clan.
The little mewling kits interrupted my thoughts. Coalstorm was licking them gently, her caring eyes looking them over. Her fur was all over the place, she hadn't been washing herself. "She must be exhausted…" I thought. Lonetail told me she had been kitting all night.
Lonetail looked one more time at Coalstorm, and then looked back at me, "I'm going back to my den, she can take it from here." Lonetail looked at Foxsky and nodded at her, both of them silently padding towards the medicine cat den.
I laid down next to Coalstorm. She spoke before I had the chance to open my mouth. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you before Dawnfire… Lonetail caught me crossing the border, and told me that I made my own choices, and that all choices had consequences." She sighed. "I couldn't stop seeing him… I thought about him every day, I… I decided that I love him. I'm sorry, I'm still loyal to Lightclan, but I still love him, I love Cloudfrost… I can't help it." Her expression was sad.
"I understand" I said quietly. "I understand" I said again, a bit louder this time. "Nobody can control love… its wild, it can't be tamed. But you did disobey the warrior code by crossing the borderline. I will not punish you myself… but you will have to prove yourself to the other Lightclan cats. They will know what you have done, and will resent you for your choices." I sighed deeply. "Lonetail was right… All choices have consequences, and you have to deal with this one on your own."
Coalstorm nodded. Her eyes were growing weary. I stood up, and yawned. "I'll have an apprentice to bring you some fresh-kill in the morning." I said. "You need rest right now" Coalstorm's eyes steadily closed. She had fallen asleep quickly.
I padded back to my den and curled up. "This is going to be a long Greenleaf" I thought aloud.
